The Original Ice Cream Van
Fat Sam's Ice Creams was founded in 2004. It started with an encounter between Sam and his local ice cream man.
For some 20 years Sam had been a regular customer of this particular van and had always shown an interest in the workings of the business. So much so that when the original ice cream man decided to sell up and retire to Spain his first thought was to track down Sam. The rest, as they say, is history.
From this one, pretty ancient, ice cream van the company has since expanded into a thriving events catering service with more vans added along the way.
Sam and his crew continue to provide a door-to-door service aswell as taking regular bookings to attend events as diverse as school fetes, horse and dog shows, car boot sales and motorcross events. This year the company's excellent reputation led to us being approached by Salisbury Racecourse to become their regular ice cream vendor.
The company continues to grow. Early in 2008 Sam and one of his vans featured on BBC South Today helping to promote the company's distinctive name. As our reputation grows, so too does the events diary and thus the constant need to expand. Sam is ever on the look out for new vans to add to his growing fleet. He remains commited, however, to providing a friendly and professional service and so continuing to build and maintain the superb reputation upon which his company is founded.
